Experiments were performed to study the structural, functional, hereditary and biochemical changes of tissue cells sensitive to radiation induced by various radiation levels. An additional experiment was conducted to study the combined effects of radiation and weightlessness. A study was made of weightlessness caused by the absence of a gravitational field and determination of the consequences of artificial gravitation combined with other flight factors including the higher radiation level encountered in space.
