We present interferometric observations of Comets LINEAR (C/2002 T7) and NEAT (C/2001 Q4) by the Berkeley-Illinois-Maryland Association (BIMA) Array. During our observations of Comet LINEAR during 11-15 May 2004 we detected HCN with a total beam averaged column density of 2.1(11)x1013 cm-2 and a production rate of 2.8(15)x1027 s-1, CH3OH (methanol) with a total beam averaged column density of 3.0(7)x1014 cm-2 and a production rate of 3.3(7)x1028 s-1, and CS with a total beam averaged column density of 4.4(14)x1012 cm-2 and a production rate of 4.9(16)x1026 s-1. We were also able to set upper limits for 13CO, SiO, HNC, HN13C, CH3CN, C2H5OH (ethanol), C2H5CN (ethyl cyanide), and HCOOCH3 (methyl formate) for Comet LINEAR.
During our observations of Comet NEAT during 19-23 May 2004 we detected HCN with a total beam averaged column density of 5.7(30)x1012 cm-2 and a production rate of 8.3(44)x1026 s-1 and CH3OH with a total beam averaged column density of 8.8(52)x1013 cm-2 and a production rate of 9.3(54)x1027 s-1. We were also able to set upper limits for CS, CH3CN, and 13CO for Comet NEAT.
