There were 22/289 X-/M-Class flares observed by GOES during the first four years of the SOHO mission. The flare list has been compared with other available information to examine how the occurence of flares corresponds to other types of solar activity. Comparisons with sunspot number, F10.7 radio flux, and the UARS MG index will be shown. Large flares are often observed in close temporal association with Cornal Mass Ejections (CMEs). The CMEs listed in the LASCO catalogues will be compared with the flare list. For a subset of these CMEs, the start time of the CMEs, as determined from LASCO height-time plots, will be compared with the timing of the X-ray flares to examine the temporal relationship.
