A numerical investigation of families of periodic orbits typical of a nearly asymmetrical rotating galaxy is presented, extending the nonrotating-galaxy analysis of Caranicolas and Barbanis (1982). Equations describing the motion on the plane of rotation are derived, and double-precision Runge-Kutta-method calculations are performed for both retrograde and direct families of orbits; the results are presented as graphs of the orbit characteristics (x versus the perturbation parameter epsilon) and discussed.
