New 4.8 and 10.7 GHz maps of BG 1937+21, an extended region toward the millisecond pulsar PSR 1937+21, are presented. The data extend the spectrum to high frequencies and confirm its flat slope. The brightness distribution is centrally peaked, the peak being shifted about 2.5 arcmin to the north relative to the pulsar and displaying an extension in the direction of the pulsar itself. The thermal or nonthermal nature of the source and its possible connection with the pulsar are discussed in detail. The source may be either a plerion or an H II region. In the former case the radio source and the pulsar are probably associated; the lack of strong polarization may be due to the source being energized by the pulsar at an anomalously low rate. This hypotheses can be tested by measuring the proper motion of the pulsar. The alternative hypothesis is obviously consistent with the lack of polarization and can be verified by measuring recombination lines and/or continuum infrared photometry.
