I discuss various possibilities of using squeezing to reduce the optical
noise in an interferometric detector of gravitational waves. Influences
of other sources of noise on the efficiency of the proposed solutions
are analyzed, trying to understand how far we are from the possibility
of a concrete application of these ideas.
