We present a new arbitrary-Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) code, BETHE-hydro, designed to address the explosion mechanism of core-collapse supernovae. The salient feature of this code is that hydrodynamic flows are simulated on arbitrary, unstructured moving grids. More to the point, the flexibility of these grids allows for simulations avoiding the problems of standard grids, while at the same time tailoring the mesh for the specific astrophysical phenomena at hand.
