The behavior of the O I triplet at 7773 A in a sample of Am stars is analyzed and compared to results previosly obtained for normal stars. The oxygen abundance derived from this triplet appears to be very sensitive to the value of the microburbulence parameter and to NLTE effects. With the adopted microburbulent velocities, an underabundance of up to a factor of 10 is found for this sample of Am stars.
