Solar Microwave Bursts: Structure

Scientific paper

Five type III microwave bursts observed by using the solar radio synchronous observational system (with high temporal resolution at 1.42, 2.13, 2.84 and 4.26 GHz) of Yunnan Observatory are presented. These events denote that both plasma emission of nonthermal electron beams and radiation of electron cyclotron masers are possible. These characteristics are neither similar to the metric and decimetric type III bursts nor to the microwave high frequency type III bursts. Thus it may be interpreted that there are double features or transition phenomena in the low frequency microwave band.
