Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) on-board Swift is detecting and localizing promptly for more than a hundred of Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs) in its first year of the operation. In this paper, we report the systematic study of the temporal and spectral properties of GRBs observed by BAT using this one year sample. We found that 1) the fluence distribution in the 15-150 keV band of the BAT long GRBs are spread over from 7 x 10^-8 erg cm^-2 to 2 x 10^-5 erg cm^-2, 2) the BAT GRBs show a positive correlation between the spectral hardness and the fluence, and 3) the good correlation between Epeak (less than 100 keV) and the index of a simple power-law fit to the prompt BAT spectrum. Since about 80\% of GRBs observed by BAT are acceptably fitted by a simple power-law model due to the relatively narrow energy range of BAT, the correlation between Epeak and the photon index, we found in this study, can be used to estimate Epeak especially for the soft GRBs known as X-ray-rich GRBs and X-ray flashes.
