The paper analyzes the characters of the solar motion and the gyromagnetic effect. It is demonstrated that the coefficient of correlation between the rates of change of the angular momentum of the Sun about the center of mass of the solar system and the yearly means of relative sunspot numbers, a quantity estimating total solar magnetic activity, is as high as 0.81; moreover the confidence of their linear correlation is far higher than 99.9%. So, solar motion or solar gyromagnetic effect should be regarded as the basic cause of total solar magnetic activity.
