Only a very limited number of molecular species (around 10) was until now detected in translucent interstellar clouds. Among them several molecules are revealed by very weak bands. They are: NH, C_3 and very likely HC_4H^+. The presentation demonstates a survey of the observations of these species and their relations to other, well--known molecules. Comments concerning several recent reports on PAH cations and propadienylidyne (l-C3H2) are to be given as well.
