The influence of line blocking on observed values of Balmer-discontinuity strength is discussed for stars of spectral types O9-G0 and luminosity classes I-V. It is found that from available line-blocking data, a grid of correction values for apparent Balmer-discontinuity strengths may be derived which is applicable to a wide variety of observational data on these strengths. The resulting corrections are found to be fairly small and show only minor luminosity-class dependence for stars of spectral types earlier than or equal to A 3. For stars of spectral types later than A 3, the correction values depend strongly on spectral type and luminosity class except for stars of luminosity class I, which display only minor correction values as a whole.
