The relative spectral reflectivity between 200 and 320 nm for the integrated disk of Venus was measured using a balloon-borne spectrophotometer on May 9, 1983 during the time of eastern elongation of Venus (the phase angle was 100°). Stabilization of the scientific payload allowed the spectrometer to provide spectra with a resolution of about 0.4 nm in the two spectral ranges 200 - 220 and 280 - 320 nm where broad-band absorption is due to SO2. Division by the solar spectrum yields the reflectivity of the atmosphere of Venus. Identification of absorption due to SO2 using laboratory spectra gives an estimate of the SO2 abundance of about 0.07 ppm, consistent with other determinations.
