This paper presents the activities performed in the frame of the Envisat Stratospheric Aircraft and Balloon Campaign (ESABC). The objective of the ESABC is to contribute to the validation of the level 1b and level 2 data products from the three Atmospheric Chemistry instruments MIPAS, GOMOS and Sciamachy. This validation will be achieved by using several sensors carried be aircraft and stratospheric balloons. They will provide reference correlative measurements for comparison with Envisat products.
