The data obtained by the gravitational wave antenna at Frascati (M equals 389 kg) in May 1980 and June to July 1978 is analyzed for possible periodicities in the range 20 to 100 min which may be attributable to the gravest spheroidal free oscillations of the earth. The data, consisting of 10 pulses of squared force acting on the bar greater than 10,000 K in the 1980 set and 44 and 41 pulses of force-squared greater than 5000 and 1000 K in the June and July 1978 data sets, respectively, was treated by a Fourier analysis technique. Probabilities for the observations to be purely accidental are calculated which provide evidence for the correlation of eight or nine of the large pulses recorded at frequencies of 1795.93 Hz and 7819.43 Hz in 1978 and 1980, respectively, with known free oscillations of the earth at periods of 55.03, 53.12, 25.84 and 28.85 min for the 1980 events and 55.23, 36.23, 35.30, 20.38-20.61, 41.18, 21.73 and 21.64 min for the 1978 events.
