Results are presented for B, V photometry of the Wolf-Lundmark-Melotte (WLM) system (A2359), a dwarf Magellanic-type irregular galaxy of low surface brightness. B and V magnitudes of the 50 brightest blue stars in this galaxy are measured from electrographic plates, and surface photometry is performed using photographic plates. The distance to A2359 is determined to be 1.76 Mpc on the basis of corrected blue distance moduli and the effective equivalent radius of the galaxy. A globular cluster located about 2 arcmin west of the center of A 2359 is found to be about 0.5 magnitude brighter than the brightest globular clusters in the Small Magellanic Cloud. B and V isophotes of the galaxy are analyzed, mean luminosity and color profiles along the major and minor axes are plotted, and the absolute magnitude of A2359 is estimated to be -15.41.
