It is proven that a charged rotating (Kerr) black hole is stable with respect to axisymmetric quasi-stationary perturbations. The analysis is restricted to the limit of infinitely slow variation such that the metric is in the same form as the stationary one. The stability of the present black hole with respect to such variation is established using the Ernst form of the axisymmetric Einstein-Maxwell equation.
