It has been shown that ohmic dissipation of a force-free magnetic field could be followed by resistive collapse of the region where current density appears to be great enough. The example of that structure is a force-free current sheet immersed into a homogeneous magnetic field. Autooscillations are possible if the dissipation of the shear of magnetic field lines (and currents) into the sheet is compensated by the action of external sources. The magnetic field of the active region structured by the force-free current sheets can be regarded as an excitable medium, in which excitation and propagation of autowaves can be observed. The time parameters and energy release of the collapsing current sheets are close to those of flares.
