Fourier structural analysis was tested for its ability to automatically classify astronomical objects into a limited but reasonable number of classes of astronomical significance. The classification procedure is based on a two-bits Fourier structural detector, which monitors the radial and angular excess noises in Fourier domain. Selected classes of basic objects were simulated numerically to control the classification parameters, the signal to noise ratio, and the spatial resolution of the galaxy-like images in the Fourier morphology analysis. Sample results of the Fourier morphology of basic galaxy-like images are given in 50 x 50 pixels, format and the success of the procedure is confirmed by two tests made on true images of galaxies.
