The strong absorption around 1400 A which appears in Si magnetic Ap stars has been attributed to the autoionization lines of Si II. In order to verify this, the atomic structure of Si II was computed to obtain characteristics of lines connecting discrete excited and quasi-discrete broadened levels. Seventy-one Si II terms were calculated between the first Si(plus) limit and 200,000 per cm. The widths of the terms which are broadened by autoionization effects are given down to 0.000001 eV. A list of 809 lines of Si II in the range 900-8000 A was compiled, and the oscillator strengths were calculated.
