Given a compact p-adic analytic group we show that the distribution algebra
admits a Frechet-Stein structure consisting of Auslander regular Banach
algebras. As an application, we prove that coadmissible modules coming from
smooth or, more general, U(g)-finite representations have a maximal
codimension.
