From work on HR 465, the identification of the odd-Z element gold (Z=79)
in the spectra of magnetic (CP2) as well as nonmagnetic (CP3) stars is
reported. The importance of quantitative abundance analyses of the
Pt-Au-Hg elemental sequence is pointed out, as well as a closer
relationship between CP2 and CP3 stars than generally assumed.
