We present a study of atmospheric thermal structure of nine MIIIgiants located in the zone of a star formation region in thestellar Galactic bar. Vibrational temperatures of the layers offormation of δ, π and ɛ TiO molecular bandsystems have been determined spectroscopically. These temperatureshave been associated to optical depths by use of an appropriatemodel atmospheres and in view of several T eff calibrationscales. Significant temperature gradient in the upper atmosphericlayers has been established.
