It is shown that a change in atmospheric spectral transmission may change refraction corrections for stellar color by 0.2 to 0.5 arcsec. Calculations are performed which indicate that the reddening of an A0 star due to an increase in its zenith distance from zero to 60 deg will decrease the color correction to 0.2 arcsec. A method is proposed for determining a color-correction system on the basis of stellar observations at both upper and lower culminations.
