An analysis is made of Venera 15 and 16 radio occultation data on the Venus atmosphere at heights of 40 to 90 km in the -60 to -76 deg latitude region at solar zenith angles of 65 to 118 deg. The height dependences of temperature, pressure, and density are presented. The large scale structure of the atmosphere in the southern polar region is found to be analogous to the structure of the atmosphere in the northern polar region.
