A technique for the solution of the inverse problem for the solar 5-minute oscillations is proposed. This technique provides an independent determination of the sound speed as a function of depth in the solar interior and the frequency dependence of the effective phase shift for the reflection of the trapped acoustic waves from the outer layers. The preliminary numerical results are presented.
