The equations of the motion of a slightly asymmetric spacecraft are solved by the averaging method. The equations of the spacecraft's motion about its center of mass are obtained in a complex form, allowing for terms up to any degree with respect to the angles of attack and yaw. Under fairly general assumptions about the spacecraft's aerodynamic characteristics, the author derives all possible kinds of resonances developing in the investigated system of equations in an "improved" first approximation of the averaging method, and he establishes their causes. He shows that only a finite number of resonances can develop for spacecraft descending in the atmosphere. Equations for determining a spacecraft's resonant angular velocities are derived.
