The H alpha profile in supernova 1987A at the `Bochum event' phase is described as a superposition of a spherically symmetric and an asymmetric component. The symmetric component is characterized by the non-monotonic radial dependence of the effective H alpha optical depth which is adapted to match the blue emission satellite of H alpha. The asymmetric component responsible for the red emission satellite consistes of the bright core with a radial velocity of +4000 km/s and the extended halo of lower brightness. The effect of the occultation of the asymmetric component by the photosphere is used to estimate a transversal velocity of the core of 2400 km/s, which together with the radial velocity gives the absolute velocity of 4700 km/s. There is compelling that the core of the asymmetric component coincides with the Ni-56 clump, which should have the same absolute velocity of 4700 km/s. The amount of Ni-56 in the fast clump is estimated to be approximately 10-3 solar mass.
