The paper examines the effect of the velocity distribution of inhomogeneities - on the line of sight - on the form of the cross-correlation function of the interplanetary scintillations of radio sources. The dependence of the asymmetry of the cross-correlation function on the parameters which characterize the velocity structure of the solar wind is established. It is shown that the transition from saturated to weak scintillations does not affect this asymmetry.
