Asymmetries of Thomson scatter spectra occurring at different heights
are investigated. A differential ion-flow technique is applied, using
the BGK form of the Boltzmann equation. The result is useful for the
study of frequency broadening and the bite-out center in power spectra
of incoherent scatter signals.
