Within the framework of the two-channel approximation of the resonating group method with the binary channels 3+3 and 4+2 the authors study the synthesis reactions t(t,2n)α and 3He(3He,2p)α at low energies. They show that these reactions take place mainly in the case of central collisions of two 3H or 3He nuclei. The theoretical energy dependences obtained for cross sections for these reactions and for the astrophysical S factor are in satisfactory agreement with existing experimental data.
