The orientations of 48 neolithic passage graves near Carnac/Bretagne
have been measured. Most of the passages point to the southeastern
horizon. The author discusses if this result is of any astronomical
significance, e.g. if the graves are orientated to the rising point of
the Sun at winter solstice.
