We present an overview of VOSpec, the Spectral Energy Distributions visualization and analysis tool developed by ESA-VO. We'll focus on two science projects being currently developed: the comparison between the predictions of stellar synthesis models and the observed soft X-ray spectra in a sample of nearby obscured AGN, and the identification of spectral features in optical and X-ray spectra retrieved from VO spectral services.
