At the last Conference of the European Society for Astronomy in Culture, a new working group was set up. It intends to support the efforts of UNESCO World Heritage Centre to contribute to the implementation of the Thematic Initiative "Astronomy and World Heritage" elaborated at the first international meeting held at the UNESCO Bureau for Science in Europe (ROSTE) in March 2004. The foremost task of the WG should be a first identification of archaeoastronomical sites and the development of a database containing all relevant data necessary for further research work. Focusing on these aspects, we intend to design and develop an object-oriented database model in order to store and easily access information on the archaeo-astronomical sites.
