The 1.4 GHz NRAO VLA Sky Survey and the Villanova Catalog of Spectroscopically Identified White Dwarfs were used to search for radio emission from white dwarfs. Fourteen candidate white dwarfs, which lie within twenty arcseconds of a radio source, are being investigated. The radio images are compared to visual images from the Digitized Sky Survey to determine if potential sources are nearby. Although radio emission from white dwarfs is improbable, astronomical data mining may lead to unusual discoveries. The project also details the problems faced, skills needed and procedures required when merging data from two unrelated sources.
