The position of SN 1987A has been determined relative to ≡30 Perth 70 stars using two sets of astrometric plates (epochs 1987.2 and 1973.0) and a secondary reference system comprised of LMC members. The SN position is α = 5h35m49s.970±0s.005, δ = -69°17arcmin57arcsec.92±0arcsec.03 (equinox 1950). The positional coincidence of the SN and Star 1 of Sanduleak -69°202 is confirmed to within an uncertainty of ±0arcsec.13 in each coordinate, where the uncertainty is primarily due to the error in the "progenitor" position. The relative brightness of the two major components of Sk -69°202 has been determined by fitting the density profiles of the blended images. The magnitude difference between Star 1 (the proposed SN progenitor) and the fainter Star 2 is found to be 1.4 in V and 0.7 in B. These last values differ from previously published measurements, raising the question of the possible variability of Star 2.
