A total of 190 astrometric positions of Comet Halley and 46 positions of Comet Giacobini-Zinner which were obtained at Fabra Observatory in Barcelona, Spain in 1985-1986 are presented. The techniques used in making the observations and in reducing the data are examined. Topocentric positions and residuals of both comets are presented. Those observations with residuals smaller than 3 arcsecs are used to calculate the orbital elements of each comet.
