Origin Of Life, Interstellar Molecules, Physico-Chemical Processes
Scientific paper
In this communication we introduce a new project on the study of the physico-chemical processes relevant to the understanding of the origin of life. Energetic radiations and gas phase reactions are two essential active mechanisms in space in producing complex molecules. Reactions involving PAHs, fullerenes, grains and several types of neutrals will be studied in detail in order to measure radiative association rate constants and hence lifetime of complexes. Destruction processes will be simulated in laboratory using UV and gamma irradiations in order to deduce if balance between formation and destruction processes can be established in the harsh interstellar medium.
