By means of an extreme ultraviolet spectrophotometer using resonance cell techniques the He-I 58.4 nm radiation, resonantly backscattered from geocoronal and interplanetary helium, was measured during a daytime mission in 22 directions on the sky. After separation of the radiation due to geocoronal helium, the remaining intensities were analyzed by comparison with theoretical intensity calculations. A least squares fit yielded the vector of approach of the interstellar helium wind as well as its density outside the solar system. From the geocoronal intensity contribution the temperature as well as the density of the helium geocorona could be deduced.
