The Taurid complex of small interplanetary objects likely contains - apart from meteoroids of several streams - a lot of asteroids and some comets. An investigation of the orbital evolution of those bodies gives a contribution to understanding the origin of the complex. The presented results seem to be an argument for the hypothesis of the breakup of a giant comet 104 - 105 years ago in the inner Solar System.
