We present empirical modeling for small-phase-angle photometry and polarimetry of asteroids, including the brightness opposition effect and the phenomenon of ``negative'' linear polarization. We model both phenomena using a simple linear-exponential formalism, and provide a statistical inversion algorithm for parameter estimation. We apply our technique to the asteroid (1) Ceres.
