Association criteria for comets and meteor showers are reviewed. Their application to the records in the Far East chronicles suggests three or four sucb associations, the most probable pairs being the comets and meteor showers of 461, 647, 684, 1063, and 1539. Most of them seem to be of low inclination and short revolution period. The number of meteor events associated with comet Halley implies its uniqueness in meteoroid production.
