This paper deals with two kinds of aspheric plate corrector for prime focus. The first is a four-element corrector consisting of three aspheric plates and a spherical lens. The other is a three-element corrector consisting of only three aspheric plates. Several examples applied to large telescopes, such as the Chinese 2.16 M, the ESO 3.6 M, and the Palomar 5.08 M, are given in this paper. The configurations of these systems and their spot diagrams are specified. Compared with a spherical lens corrector, these systems will give a better aberration correction covering a wide field and a broader spectral region. At the end of the paper, an optimization method for designing aspheric plate correctors is discussed.
