SNR CTB 80 shows an extraordinary radio morphology with a plerionic core in a plateau and a shell consisting of three intersecting ridges. In the core, there is the young pulsar PSR 1951+32 of about 105yr age with 39.5 ms period. In X-rays, it has a low luminosity of 6×1033erg/s at 2.5 kpc distance and pulsations are not yet proven. The author reports on a 40 ks ASCA observation of this object. An elliptical plateau with the pulsar at one side is seen. The spectra are power-laws with slightly different slopes in the plateau and the core regions confirming the speculated synchrotron nature of the X-rays. Indications of spectral lines are found which, if real, suggest a pulsar surface magnetic field stength of about 5×1011G in accordance with that inferred from radio data. Due to the low luminosity and the exciting nature of this source, a longer ASCA observation is proposed.
