The ARIBib -- an on-line bibliographical data base for astronomical references -- aims at presenting references to the literature from the remote past until the middle of the year 2000. The ARIBib contains references to the literature from printed bibliographies:
Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts (AAA, 1968--2000) in the reference format (title, author(s) or editor(s), source, keyword(s), reference number, no summary), Astronomischer Jahresbericht (AJB, 1899--1968) in the index format (author, year, volume and page number of the bibliography) or in the image format (same as index format, plus a link to a GIF image of the page in the bibliography), bibliographies by J. C. Houzeau and A. Lancaster (1495--1880), by J. J. de la Lande (480 BC--1802 AD) in the image format, and some references from the Bibliography of Astronomy (1881--1898 -- on Microfilm) in the image format.
In August 2005 we completed the generation of the reference format for all AAA volumes and are now working on the AJB volumes. In the near future we will scan the microfilmed bibliography which will result in another 52,000 references. Some features, the present status and future efforts are presented.
