New Arecibo observations of the high-redshift radio galaxy B2 0902 + 343 confirm the detection of absorption in the 21 cm line of neutral hydrogen at z_abs_ = 3.397 (Uson, Bagri, & Cornwell 1991a) against the radio continuum source. The Arecibo observations do not confirm the presence of H I emission from a Zel'dovich "pancake" at z ~ 3.4 in the direction 09^h^03.8^m^ + 33^deg^52'; the emission feature was expected to be observed with greater than 10 σ significance.
