It is well established that the origin of cosmic rays with energies greater than 1018 eV must be extra-galactic in origin. In order to explain the observed cosmic ray spectrum, sources of high energy cosmic rays must also lie close to the Milky Way and contain structures capable of acceleration particles to the required energies. We present here preliminary work on one candidate source for the higest energy cosmic rays, the cluster of galaxies A3667 which we observe in a post-merger state.
