Many short gamma-ray bursts have features in their X-ray light curves such as plateaus which appear similar to those seen in long GRBs. Recently we have proposed that some of the features seen in long GRBs may be due to emission from magnetars. Here we extend our previous study to compare the observed X-ray light curves of short GRBs with the magnetar model. We find that a significant fraction of short GRBs may be powered by a magnetar.
