Influential diagnostic statistics are used to identify star observations that have a disproportionate influence on the estimated model of the usual Paris Astrolabe reductions. An examination, over two homogeneous test periods, of ordinary least-squares residuals of the Paris Astrolabe data shows that nine stars of the program are atypical, with the most suspicious being the double star Nr 2889. The present work has application to the determination of the severity of observational errors, and reveals difficulties in observing double stars and high magnitude stars.
